Theater Compagnie de Comédie | BUEHNE 602
The Ensemble 'Compagnie de Comédie' is a free theatre. It has been managed by Marina Witte since 1993. The performances take place at the BÜHNE 602 along the Rostock Warnow bank.

The first performance by the ensembles took place on the 12th of July 1991. Aristophanes 'Eirene - Peace' was on show.
Per season, there are about 6 new productions. apart from the home venue Rostock, plays are also performed in different places at the Baltic Sea cost respective Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. From June to August, open-air performances are being presented in Rostock's monastery 'Zum Heiligen Kreuz', (To the Holy Cross).
The repertoire of the Compagnie de Comédie, encomapasses play productions, classics, song programmes, pop song evenings, cabaret, children and youngsters plays and readings.
Every year, the 10 members of the ensemble bring around 400 events onto the stage.

One of the performances played now and very popular is one of Rob Ballard's versions of Ben Hur.
The audience can look forward to a happy theatre evening with waggon races and galley drives.
'Ben Hur' is a monumental movie, staged with great expense. Over 50.000 extras took art. Filming took over 5 years.
The Compagnie de Comédie tells the story with just 4 actors in the course of the funny and racy theatre play.

Another play from the current find of the ensemble is 'Mr. Pilk's Madhouse' by Ken Campbell.
Imagine, you come home as you do everyday and then suddenly realise, that you are there already. Maybe the 'home' is also an exact copy of the real 'home'?
Is Pilk a Canadian poet, Irish drinker or brachial philosopher? One thing is for sure: There will be lots of laughter.
