IGA Park
In the year 2003, the international garden show IGA 2003, took place in Rostock. It took years of complex work, to turn the area between Rostock-Schmarl and Rostock Gross-Klein into a well worth seeing landscape with architectural highlights. Even a cableway was installed. Visitors in the cabins were able to 'fly over' the whole terrain. Unfortunately, many of the gardens as well as the national gardens were turned back into its original state.

Still, the terrain of the former IGA is well worth a visit. Not only the traditional ship at the bank of the Warnow, but also the impressive willow dome, the still existing national gardens, Rostock' gardens, a playground of a different kind and lots of greenery along the paths are ideal to relax and enjoy nature.

Should you feel hungry suddenly, the Mecklenburger Hall or during the summer months, the officers' mess of the traditional ship offer snacks.
